Sustainable communities are going to be essential for future generation no matter where they are on the planet. But can sustainable communities also be affordable and practical? Well the Paisano Green Community in El Paso, Texas may help shed some light on this and many other questions. As the 1st Net-Zero, LEED Platinum Public Housing Community In The United States it not only makes history as being the first, but Paisano becomes a model that others can evaluate and plan their own communities by with practical, and authenticated data.

Helping to provide us with an in-depth look at the Paisano Green Community are
Shane Griffith the media and government liaison for the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso, Texas, and Brian Gerritz who is the President of Pavilion Construction.

Before we dove into how the Paisano Green Community came into being, Shane gave us a over view of the demographics of the city of El Paso, Texas. We learned how the Piasano Green Community came into being and where the financing came from in form of federal money as well as local funds . Brian Gerritz explained how Pavilion Construction and the architectural firm ,Work Shop 8 was rewarded the opportunity to design and build the project .

This exciting show truly defines what Net Zero means, and how people living in these communities become passionate for living a sustainable lifestyle
