As we read about Seattle's plan for building the nation's largest community food forest. Built right in the middle of the City.
Seattle is certainly one of our favorite cities. Back in here in RI we have a group called New Urban Farmers who have been very successful in bring nature to our urban communities, nurturing tremendous educational outreach as well. The Beacon Food Forest, as shown below, takes urban farming to a whole new level.
As you read this story, think about the potential economic influence--particularly jobs--this could spur. We'll have them on a show and explore other aspects of the site, including water usage and possible implementation of renewable energy.
